In the eighties and nineties Shields Environmental had several hundreds of staff on BT telecom sites working on one of the largest telecom network upgrades. The BiE index is the leading benchmark for environmental excellence. In 1998 Shields achieved an industry leading platinum rating for environmental excellence from Business in the Community.

Embracing continuous innovation Shields launched ‘Fonebak’ several years ago, now a separate company (Regenersis) with a turnover exceeding £100M, and more recently Shields has introduced a portfolio of energy conservation products and services, again helping our customers to minimize their costs and their impact on the environment.
