The company was founded by Gordon Shields in 1979. Initially focusing on the telecoms sector he linked good environmental management practices to revenue return, becoming one of the first companies to provide a sound business case for environmental excellence.

We were the joint first company in the world to achieve a certificated Environmental Management System in 1995 (now ISO 14001).

We were one of the first companies in the world to measure and reduce our CO2 emissions.

We were one of the first companies to report publicly on our environmental impact producing an EMAS verified Environmental Statement (since 1996).

We have ranked first in our category in the Business in the Environment Index (for 4 years), consistently achieving a score of over 97%. The BiE index is the leading benchmark for environmental excellence.

In 2008 we achieved an industry leading Platinum score for environmental excellence for Business in the Environment

Over the last 10 years we have helped our clients to reduce their Carbon Footprints with more than 15,000 tCO2

We are certificated to ISO 14001:2004, 9001:2000, OHSAS18001 and our Environment Statement is EMAS registered.
